We are a Ceilidh Band based on continental Europe. We have performed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Czechia, Luxembourg, the UK and USA. Getting an international group of people with varied dancing ability onto the dance floor and having fun is what we do!
We bring all the ceilidh classics such as The Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant, Strip The Willow, The Virginia Reel, Canadian Barn Dance, St. Bernards Waltz, Military Two-Step and more to get the Scottish party in full swing. All topped off with a traditional Auld Lang Syne.
But a successful ceilidh is about so much more than just great music. It needs energy, engagement and atmosphere - and we deliver the full package. We are not just professional level musicians, we are entertainers!
Liam has the professionalism, experience, personality and know-how to lead your event, build the atmosphere and ensure it is a unique and brilliant experience that you, your guests or colleagues will never forget.
Some have never been to a ceilidh before? No problem! We are experts at getting everyone involved. Liam leads the ceilidh and personally gets onto the dance floor and teaches the dances in a fun-filled, interactive way to ensure that no-one is left out. Further, he can do so in both English and German if required.
We fully understand that it's not every day that you organise a ceilidh, so you can draw on our experience to advise on all aspects during the planning stage. From venue choice and dance floor size, to the programme order - we are happy to help! We also bring all of our own sound equipment, so we have you covered there as well.

MEET LIAM
The band is led by accordionist and caller, Liam Smith. Born and raised in Scotland, he is the record-breaking 5 times UK Accordion Champion and reached the Scottish finals of the world-renowned BBC Young Musician of the Year competition. He has 30 years experience of entertaining and leading dances, ceilidhs and events of all sizes and natures in locations as wide ranging as castles in Italy and ballrooms in Austria - to barns in Germany and hotel resorts in Switzerland. Rest assured your event will be in experienced hands.
Having been part of the live entertainment scene in his native Scotland for many years, Liam now lives in Germany, is bi-lingual and loves to bring the music, dancing and culture of his homeland to an international audience. Dressed in his kilt and with his natural Scottish charm and humour, he brings a genuinely authentic flavour of Scotland to any event. Over the years he has played for private celebrations, international relations events, hotel entertainment, the Scotch Whisky industry, government ambassadors, NATO officers, company CEOs, UK armed forces, and many more.
Simply put, Liam has the experience, character and ability to appropriately carry an event of any size and nature - and to get it just right.
He comes from a family with a rich musical heritage. He started to learn the accordion at the age of 6 and was taught by his father, Bill - himself a previous UK Accordion Champion. Indeed, Liam and his dad made history when they became the first ever father and son to win the same UK accordion title - with Liam bringing home the exact same cup 32 years after its first journey. Liam has the distinguished status of being the first - and so far only - winner of 5 UK Accordion Solo Championships. He is also an accomplished cornet and trumpet player and was Assistant Principal Cornet in one of Scotland's top brass bands for many years.

MEET tobias
Liam works exclusively with professional musicians and from them, it's Tobias Radtke who accompanies him at most ceilidhs. They have travelled Europe together for many years as they have combined their musical abilities to bring ceilidh entertainment to literally thousands of people.
Tobias is in high demand and in addition to working with Liam he is involved with several other artists and bands well as music industry marketing projects.
He is an award-winning DJ, works as a drummer and keyboarder with acts such as Munich Dancing Machine and Steffi Trinker and owns the Munich Vocal Coaching singing academy. All this gives him a wealth of live music and entertainment experience to draw upon to add to a great ceilidh experience.
And although he's a native German, he has certainly had enough exposure to Scottish music and culture to be considered an honorary Scot ;-) !
If due to being booked already Tobias isn't available, then another professional drummer will accompany Liam.
